An award-winning IT journalist and editorial executive, Maryfran Johnson is Executive Director, CIO Programs. In this role she spearheads the strategic direction for CIO’s extensive portfolio of national and regional events, and community, for Chief Information Officers. Along with agenda development and speaker recruitment, Maryfran also serves as conference moderator for the CIO 100 Symposium and the regional series of CIO Perspectives Forums launched in 2008. Maryfran brings more than 20 years of experience covering IT leadership, technology and business trends to her new role, along with an extensive network of CIO contacts built during previous leadership positions as Editor in Chief of IDG's CIO and Computerworld magazines and Founding Editor of CIO Decisions magazine. Since the mid-1990s, Maryfran has been featured in media interviews as an expert commentator on IT/business leadership issues. She frequently serves as a guest speaker and moderator at industry conferences, where she is known for her engaging stage presence and deep knowledge of IT executive issues. She was the first national winner in 2004 of American Business Media's Timothy White Award for editorial integrity, and in 2005 was named one of the “21 Most Intriguing People in Publishing" by Min’s B2B Magazine. Maryfran holds a Master of Arts in Journalism from The Ohio State University's Kiplinger Program and a B.S. in Journalism from the University of Florida.
Tim Scannell is presently Director of Strategic Content for the CIO Executive Council. He has close to 40 years’ experience as a writer, editor and analyst in the computer industry, interacting with IT leaders, technology developers and digital innovators at all levels. He is also a frequent speaker on technology and technology management topics. Previously, Scannell was the Editorial Director at the TechnologyGuide Media Group, a division of TechTarget, Inc., where he managed the activities of seven technology news and review Web sites and coordinated a worldwide editorial and freelance staff.
As VP of Global Services for the CIO Executive Council, Kathy Sullaway is responsible for developing and executing the go-to-market strategy for the CEC’s leadership development and custom consulting programs for CIOs & IT executives. Kathy has been a member of the CEC’s leadership team since December 2006 and her skills have contributed to multiple business transformations as the CEC continues to anticipate the demands of the CIO community. Prior to joining the CEC, Kathy held a variety of senior business development and management positions within the technology industry. Over the course of her 20+ year career, Kathy has earned a reputation for her high-energy, customer focus, and ability to thrive in a high demand, performance-driven environment.
Kathryn Marston oversees a team of client relationship managers who provide extensive high-level Council services to senior level IT executives, insuring membership value and client subscription renewals through this engaging consultative approach. Kathryn’s extensive client relationship experience of delivering value by engaging global clients comes to the Council, most recently from IDG Brokerage Services where she supported direct marketing strategies for a variety of clients and worked closely with them to maximize value and return on marketing investments. Kathryn holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Regis College with a concentration in Biochemistry.
Adam Dennison brings more than 15 years of media, events and technology marketplace experience to his role as Senior Vice President/General Manager, IDG Events/CEC & Publisher, CIO. In this unique role, Dennison has oversight of the teams that build relationships between tech executives and tech vendors through events, including content development, operations, marketing, audience development and sponsor sales efforts for all national, regional and custom executive events. IDG Enterprise events within this portfolio include the AGENDA Conference, CIO 100 Symposium, CSO50 Security Conference, CIO Perspectives and IT Roadmap conference and expo series. Additionally, Dennison plays a strategic role for the CIO brand, establishing the go-to-market strategy, including brand positioning, market research and creating turnkey solutions for his clients. A popular moderator, speaker and columnist, Dennison possesses an in-depth knowledge of emerging technologies and key strategies for marketing to IT decision-makers. These insights are shared in his regular CIO column. Additionally, Dennison has recently spoken at several conferences and private events for companies including Microsoft, VMware, Dropbox, Red Hat, BMC and more. Dennison joined IDG in 2007 as National Sales Director for the Custom Solutions Group where he excelled in providing innovative marketing services. Prior to joining IDG, Dennison spent 6 years in IT media sales at CMP’s flagship brands InformationWeek and CRN. Dennison also held media sales roles at Lawyer’s Weekly and American Sports Media. Dennison is a graduate of Syracuse University in New York with a B.A. in International Relations.
