An award-winning technology journalist, conference moderator and editorial executive, Maryfran Johnson is Executive Director of CIO Programs for IDG. In this dual role, she spearheads the strategic direction of CIO’s extensive portfolio of national and regional events and works closely with the CIO Executive Council (CEC) in building a robust community of Chief Information Officers and IT executives. Along with agenda development and speaker recruitment, Maryfran also moderates the annual CIO 100 Symposium and a regional series of nine CIO Perspectives Forums. Maryfran brings more than 25 years of experience covering IT leadership, technology, and business trends to her events, content development and coaching role, along with an extensive network of CIO contacts built during previous leadership positions as Editor-in-Chief of IDG's CIO and Computerworld magazines. She has written extensively about IT strategy and business transformation, most recently as an adjunct researcher with IDC’s IT Executive Programs. She has been a guest speaker and moderator at numerous industry conferences, where she is known for her engaging stage presence and extensive knowledge of IT leadership issues. Maryfran holds a Master of Arts in Journalism from The Ohio State University's Kiplinger Program and a B.S. in Journalism from the University of Florida. Prior to joining IDG, she spent 10 years as a reporter at daily newspapers in Florida, Washington State, and Ohio.
As Director of Strategic Content for the CIO Executive Council (CEC), Tim Scannell helps educate and elevate CIOs through content development, branding services and the CEC speaker’s bureau. He brings 40 years’ experience as a writer, editor, and analyst in the tech industry, interacting with IT leaders, technology developers and digital innovators at all levels to this role. He is also a frequent speaker on technology and technology management topics. Previously, Tim was the Editorial Director at the TechnologyGuide Media Group, a division of TechTarget, Inc., where he managed the activities of seven technology news and review Web sites and coordinated a worldwide editorial and freelance staff.
As Vice President of Global Services for the CIO Executive Council (CEC), Kathy Sullaway is responsible for developing and executing the go-to-market strategy for the CEC’s leadership development and custom consulting programs for CIOs and IT executives. Kathy has been a member of the CEC’s leadership team since December 2006 and her skills have contributed to multiple business transformations as the CEC continues to anticipate the demands of the CIO community. Prior to joining the CEC, Kathy held a variety of senior business development and management positions within the technology industry. Over the course of her 20+ year career, Kathy has earned a reputation for her high-energy, customer focus, and ability to thrive in a high demand, performance-driven environment.
As Vice President of Client Experience and Sales for the CIO Executive Council (CEC), Kathryn Marston oversees the team that manages the CEC member acquisition as well as the team that provides strategic support and extensive high-level services to senior IT executives. Through this consultative approach her team elevates the membership experience and client subscription renewals. Kathryn has an extensive track record of delivering superb client relationship experiences to global clients. Prior to joining the CEC, Kathryn was a sales leader for IDG Brokerage Services where she supported direct marketing strategies and maximized value and ROI for a variety of clients. Kathryn holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Regis College with a concentration in Biochemistry.
Adam Dennison brings more than 20 years of media, events and technology marketplace experience to his role as Senior Vice President/General Manager, IDG Events/CIO Executive Council (CEC) & Publisher, CIO. In this unique role, Dennison oversees the teams responsible for creating engagement points with tech executives through events and community. The IDG events portfolio builds relationships between tech executives and tech vendors through face to face events. The CEC provides strategic leadership development for the transforming c-suite at the world’s most influential and evolving organizations. Additionally, Dennison plays a strategic role for the CIO brand, establishing the go-to-market strategy, including brand positioning, market research and creating turnkey solutions for his clients. A popular moderator, speaker and columnist, Dennison possesses an in-depth knowledge of emerging technologies and key strategies for marketing to IT decision-makers. Dennison joined IDG in 2007 as National Sales Director for the Custom Solutions Group where he excelled in providing innovative marketing services. Prior to joining IDG, Dennison spent 6 years in tech media sales at CMP’s flagship brands InformationWeek and CRN. Dennison is a graduate of Syracuse University in New York with a B.A. in International Relations.
