Highly interactive community of aspring leaders
Pathways is a premier Leadership Development program created for high-potential IT professionals that combines thought leadership, best practices, custom group mentoring and individual coaching in a unique learning environment with unprecedented access to leading CIOs.
My involvement in the Council's Pathways program has been invaluable to me as I lay the groundwork for my professional development. The mentoring and collaboration with so many accomplished individuals creates a network of experience, counsel and guidance that is vital to the progressive development of any CIO. I believe the connections I have made through the CIO Executive Council will be viable throughout my career. "

The Future-State CIO® Assessment – Chart Your Career Journey
Your Pathways journey begins with the Future-State CIO® assessment to identify your strengths and growth opportunities across nine competencies identified by Egon Zehnder International (a talent assessment firm). Your assessment results guide you in creating your roadmap and unique engagement in the Pathways program as an “Emerging, Evolving or Strategic” leader in three key development areas: Business, Leadership and Technology.
You customize your Pathways curriculum based on targeted areas for development including podcasts, roundtables, webcasts, online forums, in-person events and an extensive online resource library via our e-learning platform.
The Council has developed three distinct business development paths designed to build on the other and “meet you where you are” as a technology leader, aiding you with your continual development as a future-state IT leader.
- Emerging Leader: CIO Group Mentoring
- Evolving Leader: Leading Change Forum
- Evolving Leader: Influential Leadership
- Strategic Leader: One on One CIO Executive Coaching
You can select and attend offerings based on your personal competency development and areas of interest and growth. This includes a variety of podcasts, roundtables and webcasts offered by council CIO members and industry experts, gaining practical experience and real world advice. Many offerings are recorded in the event you are not able to attend live – you can listen and learn at a time convenient for you.
The technology focus area is built around member-only online communities and roundtable that share peer-to-peer insights and best practices in five functional areas: risk and compliance, IT strategy and architecture software, infrastructure and operations, project and portfolio management and applications.
